The homes located in Floahreppur, which is like the gateway to all main attractions in South Iceland. It is located off state-road 30, just 2,3 km north off Interstate 1, on a peaceful gated private land. The home is also close to the Golden Circle, and many other attractions. All beds are with highest quality of mattresses and ready made eiderdown duvets, all bedrooms have a light eliminating window-rollers. One bathroom with a shower, high standard bathtowels-handtowels-washcloths and a Hair Dryer. The home has a TV, satellite Tv, DVD, CD, radio and internet access. The dining table can seat up to 6 people, which is open to the kitchen which makes all serving very easy. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large American fridge( fridge/freezer/icemaker/running water) dishwasher, full size stove, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, big toaster, blender, dishes, glasses, pots/pans utensils, silverware etc.
Please let us know if you would need a baby high chair and/or pack ‘n’ play (babybed) it is complimentary. In the hallway is a Washing Machine and dryer, so you can go home with a suitcase full of clean clothes, there you can also find iron and ironing board. The patio has a big stainless steal BBQ, and outdoor furnitures. After a long day out, just to sit back and relax with a glass of wine on the patio and enjoy the view. The highlight is of course, your beautiful scenery with a spectacular view. During the winter time watching the Aurora Borealis-is just breathtaking. In the home you can find a directory which is filled with information intended to help you feel comfortable in your home away from home, that we hope will fulfil your dreams of comfort and privacy.
Rosa was very welcoming and helpful. i felt that we could contact her at any time if we had a problem but we did not need to. the cottage is in a fabulous location with huge skies and snow capped Helga in the distance. it was well situated as an exploring base. the cottage was well equipped and spotless
We visited Icelandic Cottages with a group of 5 people and had a great stay. The house is lovely, newly furnished, clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The host was extremely friendly, helpful, and charming. Our travel plans were to stay for only one night, but we wished that we could have stayed longer to relax, unwind, and explore the sights in the local area. When we return to Iceland, we will definitely choose Icelandic Cottages for another longer stay.
When arriving to the cottage we were a bit suspicious since it is in the middle of nowhere, 20 minutes’ drive from Selfoss on road 30. But once we saw the cottage we were sorry we did not arrive earlier. The owner is very nice and helpful, recommended us of a good restaurant in Selfoss. The cottage is top notch with everything you need and even did not think of. The 3 bedrooms are similar in size so six adults can stay in the cottage. Everything is new and clean. We stayed for only one night. I was sorry I did not book it for 2 nights, before and after the visit in Landmannalaugar instad of staying at Hella the night before which was a big disappointment.
